Our Story

We are Born Maverick - a highly innovative start-up working in the food industry. We design and create new healthy food products delivered in a caring and sustainable way that is good for the earth and its inhabitants.

The initiative began as an idea to bring food, health and ethics together under one roof. Through intensive research funded by Invest NI and conducted at the College of Agriculture, Food & Rural Enterprise (CAFRE), new food products were designed, created and iteratively developed. Additionally, Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) provided invaluable support and mentorship towards the growth of the business venture.

Our products are highly innovative and often the first of their kind. All our products are dairy free, gluten free, non GMO and do not contain any added preservatives or sugars. Most importantly they are nutritious and vegan friendly. Our products and packaging adhere to eco-friendly ways and means (as best we can) and contribute towards a healthier planet. We strive to keep things as natural as they can be.

Púr is our leading brand name for a line of innovative healthy food products. Our first product is a finely milled grain that can be added to hot water (for an enjoyable drink) or consumed in food such as smoothies and cereal. It is made from the most nutritionally rich wholegrain in the world.
